Enactus UEA is part of a wide community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world.
Enactus UEA meets to discuss, plan and co-ordinate projects every week, and recently competed in the National awards and came runner up in the Rookie league, despite the society only being 3 months old when we entered!
More about Enactus
The name is derived from three driving factors:
- Entrepreneurial— having the perspective to see an opportunity and the talent to create value from that opportunity;
- Action— the willingness to do something and the commitment to see it through even when the outcome is not guaranteed;
- Us— a group of people who see themselves connected in some important way; individuals that are part of a greater whole.
Enactus is a global organisation with teams in 36 countries, comprising 1,600 universities and over 66,000 members. It operates through university student teams, who employ and develop their business skills in social enterprise projects.
With the help of the Enactus support network of business advisors, university advisors, Enactus alumni and support staff – these students are equipped with the tools they will need to not only improve themselves but to empower people in need.
Throughout the academic year and the summer break, Enactus students identify the needs and wants of disadvantaged groups in society; create an innovative solution and work with those in need to create projects which will improve their lives.
