Mental Health and Wellbeing Support

We’re committed to supporting your mental health and wellbeing here at UEA to help you reach your full potential.

Our dedicated mental health and wellbeing services offer a range of support options, designed to help you manage your mental health and to thrive during your time at university. We offer-

  • Advice, guidance and support through one-to-one appointments or signposting to internal and external services

  • Workshop and group sessions to help equip you with the skills to deal with issues such as stress, lack of motivation, maintaining a work/life balance, and more

  • One to one appointments with advisers and mental health specialists to help you build upon your existing strengths as well as consider new strategies to try

  • Access to one-at-a-time talking therapies which is designed to be accessible at the point of need rather than having to wait

  • Support for students with diagnosed mental health conditions which could include reasonable and assessment adjustments and academic accommodations tailored to your individual needs.

  • Access to Mental Health Awareness training to equip you with what you need to support others

We have a single point of referral so we can assess the most appropriate support for you to save you navigating through the wealth of support available.

Out of Hours Support

In addition to the support outlined above, all students also have 24/7 access to the Student Services Hub—a digital self-help platform offering a wide range of resources, guidance, and signposting to support wellbeing at any time. UEA students living in university residences also benefit from dedicated out-of-hours assistance.

External organisations and NHS

Our dedicated team also works closely with external organisations and NHS services, including the University Medical Centre, to ensure every student can access the right support when they need it most.

Wellbeing YouTube channel

There is a UEA Wellbeing YouTube Channel, which you can access now and throughout your time at University. We have many themes where we breakdown big topics into manageable chunks, providing short videos with tips and techniques to manage your wellbeing throughout your university journey.
