As a research-intensive university we place high value on independent research fellows bringing innovative research projects and new ideas to UEA.
We provide an outstanding research environment with access to a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and international community of researchers.
Our extensive experience of handling fellowships funded by a range of bodies including BBSRC, NERC, AHRC and the Leverhulme Trust, the British Academy and Royal Society, the Wellcome Trust, European Commission, European Research Council, and many others, means we can offer crucial guidance throughout your application process as well as bespoke advice on which funding schemes are suited to your chosen career path.
We run regular drop-in sessions, workshops, and seminars to give information on the different funders and grant schemes as well as tips on writing your applications. These are led by experienced reviewers from funding bodies and current fellows.
We have strong links with the other institutes across Norwich Research Park where researchers work in a range of fields, including health and food. Our partnerships with a broad range of organisations locally, nationally, and globally will help to build up your connections and enhance your research profile.
UEA’s Research and Innovation Service are also there to help you at every step on your Fellowship application pathway. You’ll be given a Project Officer who will offer expert guidance on the rules and regulations that apply to your chosen Fellowship scheme and help with the costings that will apply. Once you secure your Fellowship, we will be able to assist you in your personal and professional development, including providing support on how to manage your research contract and budgeting, as well as helping you explore opportunities to gain teaching experience.
