Student Life Advisers in UEA’s Student Journey and Support Services can provide advice and guidance to students on anything that’s affecting their time at university. They work closely with other teams in Student Journey and Support Services and across the University to explore all options available to you.
Student Life Advisers
Here are some of the ways Student Life Advisers can help during your time at UEA:
Our Student Life Advisers can signpost, refer, advise or simply listen if you ever experience or witness anything that makes you feel unsafe or you find yourself facing difficult circumstances.
Out of hours and overnight support in UEA accommodation through our Residential Life Advisers who, alongside the Student Services Residents (SSRs), help students settle in, build community and work to ensure life in UEA residences is safe and enjoyable.
Resources and support to help students live successfully in privately rented homes in Norwich, and advice and practical support to help students navigate challenges with housemates.
Help with budgeting, funding support and impartial advice from our experienced Student Life Finance Advisers
Specialist support for international students, including Student visa support, through our Student Life International Advisers
Spiritual and faith support through the UEA Faith Centre
Safety
Norwich is one of the safest student cities in the UK, and the University takes your safety and wellbeing extremely seriously.
The University works closely with uea(su) to make our campus a safe environment for all. We also have a dedicated Report and Support website in partnership with the Students’ Union where students, staff and visitors can report anonymously and request support from a Student Life Adviser should they witness or experience any of the following unacceptable behaviour:
Aggressive, threatening or abusive behaviour
Discrimination
Sexual harassment
Bullying
Hate crimes or hate speech
The University is committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment. Everyone at the University, whether studying, working, or visiting, has the right to feel safe.
