School of Social Work
The School of Social Work provides a rounded and supportive social work education that enables you to learn and practise essential skills, and explore the underlying psychological, sociological, ethical and policy ideas.
We also deliver an extensive programme of courses for qualified social workers and other professionals for their continuing professional development, as well as postgraduate research opportunities. We base our courses on the latest insights, many of which come from research undertaken by the School itself. We have a strong reputation for interdisciplinary work, and our Centre for Research on Children and Families is at the forefront of research into vulnerable children and parenting. The School of Social work is also home to the University's Sociology students.
