How to prepare for an Open Day
Read a blog from Lia, a current UEA student: Get the most from your Open Day.
Or watch our video with top tips on how to get the most from your Open Day experience.
It’s not compulsory but Open Days are an excellent way of giving you a real insight into what university life can be like. You’ll get to speak to current students and ask any burning questions you are bound to have. It’s also a great way to explore other aspects of student life that you’re interested in such as the Sportspark or our onsite art gallery, The Sainsbury Centre.
You are more than welcome to bring guests with you. If you are bringing children, please ensure they are accompanied by an appropriate adult who carries full responsibility for the child during the day.
If you’re coming by car, please park at the Norwich Costessey park and ride, postcode: NR9 3LX, for free. UEA representatives will be there to welcome you when you arrive. Parking is only available on campus for blue badge holders. If accessible parking is needed for a blue badge holder please email recruitmentevents@uea.ac.uk and we'll be happy to help.
Shuttle buses run every 15 minutes between campus and the park and ride throughout the day. The first bus leaves the park and ride at 8:00am, and the last bus leaves campus at 6:00pm. The buses are free and you don't need to book tickets. The journey will take around 20 minutes each way.

All open days run from 09:00 - 16:00 and you can spend as much time on campus as you like. Most people stay for a few hours to get a feel for the campus. You don’t need to book onto any talks – you can just use the programme to plan your own schedule.
After you’ve been to the Open Day you can hop on a bus into town to explore our glorious city. We are just 3 miles from Norwich city centre, a short bus or taxi ride from Norwich rail or bus station.
We’ve partnered with First Bus to offer you free all-day bus tickets on the city network for you and your guests to explore the city of Norwich on your open day. UEA is on blue line 25 and 26, with buses every 10 minutes to the city. Once you have registered for your open day, you will receive an email with instructions on how to download your free bus ticket.
If the dates don't work then you can come along to one of our Campus Tours throughout the year, or take a look at our Virtual Open Day.
If you need to cancel your Open Day booking, please email us at recruitmentevents@uea.ac.uk and we will be happy to cancel your booking on your behalf.
We encourage you to take a look at our other upcoming Open Days and book onto a new date that suits you. If you are unable to find an alternative date that suits you, please email us and we will assist in finding you an event that suits your needs and availability.

All our events are designed for you to experience what it would really be like to study here at UEA, however each has a specific focus.
An Open Day is a full-day event, where you can explore everything that UEA has to offer. We run campus and accommodation tours with our student ambassadors, or you can take a self-guided tour at your own pace. You can attend subject talks and demonstrations relevant to the subjects you're interested in, and visit our Student Information Zone to find out more about all things finance, support services and careers. Our campus eateries, Sportspark and Sainsbury Centre are all open, and you can take a walk around our green spaces.
An Applicant Day is specifically for those who have an offer to study here at UEA. This event is to provide a more in-depth insight into your chosen course, with information and taster sessions. We also run a couple of Q&A panels; one with current students, and one specifically for parents, carers and guests. We also have our campus and accommodation tours running, so you can take a look around if this is your first time to campus, or if take another look if you have previously been to an Open Day.
A Campus Tour is a more personalised experience, where you can take a look around the campus and accommodation in a small group with one of our student ambassadors. There is not usually any subject-related activities on a Campus Tour.
