Your University Questions, Answered.

Is it possible to transfer to UEA from another university? Sarah, Bury St Edmunds

Our Answer:

Good news and bad news on this one. The good news is that, yes students can and do transfer to UEA from other universities, but the bad news – we don’t offer this option for every course and we can’t take third or final year transfers either.

If you’re thinking about transferring to another uni, it’s best to get in touch with them to see what their policies are and whether they’re accepting transfers for the course you’d like to study.

At UEA, if the course is available to transferring students, we’ll ask you to give us a bit more information about you, your academic achievements and the course you’re currently studying. This all gets passed to the Admissions Team who’ll look at things like the modules you’ve already covered and the grades you’ve picked up, before getting back to you with a decision.

Whether you decide to go for a transfer or not, if you’re not happy at your current uni, then make sure you firstly access the support available from lecturers, course mates and on-campus support (UEA students get help and guidance from the Student Support Service). They’ll be able to help you weigh up the pros and cons, so you can decide whether a transfer is definitely the right move for you.
