WHY CHOOSE MACQUARIE
Macquarie University, located just 30 minutes by train from downtown Sydney, is the perfect destination for students who want the best of both worlds - a cosmopolitan experience in one of the world's most multicultural cities and the ability to retreat back to a large parklands campus. Set in its own parkland, the university is served regularly by city buses and trains. On its campus of 38,000 students, 12,000 of whom are international, students can take courses in a variety of areas, including science, social science, humanities, business, computer science and environmental studies.
Macquarie University also has seven museums on its campus, these include The Art Gallery, The Downing Herbarium, The Biological Sciences Museum and the Macquarie University Sporting Hall of Fame Museum. There is no shortage of things to do on campus.
The university is heavily invested in research and 85 per cent of Macquarie’s research is regarded by the Australian government as being world standard or higher. It has also been given five stars by the international QS stars rating system in teaching, research, facilities, innovation and specialist subjects.
Outside classes, Sydney is yours to explore and the chance to live in one of the most recognisable cities in the world. Enjoy the big city life by bar and restaurant hopping before relaxing on the beach or learning to surf. Beyond the city, you can take in the Blue Mountains or the Hunter Valley wine region. Sydney is also well served by transport allowing you to explore more of Australia.
