The School of International Development* has a global reputation as a centre of research excellence – and this feeds directly into our teaching, as well as our policy work with international and national organisations.
Our research addresses contemporary challenges in developing and transition economies via methodological and theoretical innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and a commitment that our research should make a difference. We work closely with individuals and communities often taking a long-term approach.
Staff research is listed on individual People pages; however the School also hosts a number of research groups, which are organised via three broad research areas: economic development, social development and sustainable development.
*As part of the celebration of our 50th anniversary, we are changing our name to the School of Global Development from 1 August 2023
