Utrecht University is situated in the heart of the Netherlands with a compact medieval city centre set out around canals. The university, which is rated as one of the best in the Netherlands, is comprised of seven faculties and currently has over 30,000 students.

It puts a focus on sustainability and also encourages a vibrant cultural life amongst students with its annual festival deBeschaving and 'Cultural Sundays', a weekly instalment where a number of art disciplines come together to present different sides of a central theme. The city is also a transport hub with easy travel to other Dutch cities and further afield.
