WHY CHOOSE LAVAL

Université Laval is a French-language, public research university in Québec City. Founded in 1663, it is the oldest centre of higher education in Canada and the first francophone university in North America. Laval boasts over 42,500 students, 5,600 of which are international, and some 230 student societies and associations. Université Laval is the first voluntarily carbon-neutral university in Canada, and 64% of the campus is green space.

Quebec City is a UNESCO world heritage site, and is the only walled city in North America. It provides a uniquely European experience in North America with chateaus, stone buildings, narrow streets and quaint cafes. The city also allows easy access to rugged mountainous countryside and wildlife (think black bear, moose, or whale spotting). Montreal is 3 hours on the train.
