Leiden University is the oldest university in the Netherlands, founded in 1575. The university ranks very highly on world university league tables and is associated with many notable alumni, including Albert Einstein who was a professor there! It is split into seven faculties and over 50 department, and the university buildings are spread over the city of Leiden.
