Kobe College (KC), is a private non-sectarian liberal arts college located in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Japan. Chartered in 1948, it is the first women's college with university status in West Japan.
Since its foundation in 1875, Kobe College continues to provide a well-balanced education for women based on Christian principles.
There are 2,624 students in Kobe College, which has five departments: English, general culture, music, psychology and Biosphere Sciences. Students study in small classes; they can focus on their study and the relationship between students and teachers can be much closer.
Nishinomiya City is located in the south east of Hyogo Prefecture between the cities of Kobe and Osaka. The city can be divided into two areas; a mountainous area in the north and a coastal plain in the south. Mount Kabuto is situated in the middle of the city.
Nishinomiya is blessed with a rich natural environment, convenient transportation and numerous educational and cultural facilities, making it an excellent city to live it. The city boasts several shopping malls such as the Lalaport Koshien and the Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens as well as the Kitayama Botanical Garden which contains a greenhouse, flower collections, and cherry trees. Cultural features include the Hirota Shrine, the Hyogo Performing Arts Centre and the Grave of the Fireflies. Nishinomiya is the setting for the popular light novel, manga, and anime series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
