The course emphasises the development and enhancement of transferable intellectual and study skills, all of which are highly relevant to business and management careers. These include improved self-awareness and personal development appropriate to graduate careers in business, alongside a potential for management positions. You will also gain the quantitative and analytical skills that are essential for a successful career in the fast-paced industries of corporate finance, financial services or financial markets.
Our academics are passionate and enthusiastic, with significant research contributions in areas such as asset pricing, corporate finance, portfolio theory and risk management. Their research-led approach to teaching will provide you with a meaningful and deep learning experience and will enhance your employability.
The finance modules that we offer on the degree are recognised by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) as strong preparation for selected CISI qualifications. As an accredited CISI Education Partner, we offer several scholarships every year that will cover the total exam costs for the CISI Level 3 award for Introduction to Investment. The scholarship will also provide you with a CISI Student membership, which offers access to careers events, employability training, on-campus presentations and exam bookings.
The syllabus on the degree also covers a minimum of 70% of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA) Program Candidate Body of Knowledge. This means that upon a successful completion of the finance modules that we offer on the degree, you will be well positioned to obtain the CFA designation, which is highly prized and globally recognized. As a member of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, we are eligible to award a number of scholarships for the CFA Program each year. The scholarship covers the CFA Program enrolment fee and a substantial portion of the examination costs.
Accreditations
The BSc Business Finance and Management degree has been accepted into the University Affiliation Program of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute and is part of the CISI Education Partner accreditation of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI); providing you with scholarship opportunities to sit a number of their professional examinations.
The programme is also a participant of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Higher Education Alignment arrangement, which enables students who are looking to develop a career in the insurance and personal finance profession to undertake the CII qualifications at academic rate with free membership.
When you successfully complete this BSc degree you may qualify for some examination exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Association of International Accountants (AIA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), depending on your choice of modules.

- Obtain an overall Pass including a B in the core of the T Level and a Distinction in the Occupational Specialism. Acceptable subjects are: Digital Business Services, Digital Support Services, Science.

You are required to have Mathematics and English Language at a minimum of Grade C or Grade 4 or above at GCSE.
- English Foreign Language
Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. We require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading):
- IELTS: 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components) for year 1 entry
- IELTS: 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 in all components) for year 2 entry

If you do not yet meet the English language requirements for this course, INTO UEA offer a variety of English language programmes which are designed to help you develop the English skills necessary for successful undergraduate study:
- Interviews
Most applicants will not be called for an interview and a decision will be made via UCAS Track. However, for some applicants an interview will be requested. Where an interview is required the Admissions Service will contact you directly to arrange a time.
- Deferred Entry
We welcome applications from students who have already taken or intend to take a gap year. We believe that a year between school and university can be of substantial benefit. You are advised to indicate your reason for wishing to defer entry on your UCAS application.
- Intakes
This course is open to UK and International applicants. The annual intake is in September each year.
