What is BA Marketing and Management?
This one-year course allows you to study six subjects, gaining a high-quality top-up component to your degree. You’ll develop advanced skills in marketing communication planning and management, tailored to diverse career pathways.

On this course, you’ll study marketing communications and research, learn strategies for management and brand management, and delve into topics such as the effects of globalisation on management and fair and responsible business competition.
In your first semester, you’ll explore the essentials of modern marketing and management across three fascinating core modules, starting with marketing communications, strategy and market research. You'll explore campaign development, data analysis and strategic development, giving you a focused but holistic view of the marketing function in business while also preparing you for a range of careers in marketing and management.
During semester two you'll explore the importance of strategic brand management, alongside the impact of globalisation on people management and fair and responsible methods of business competition and trading. Our degree courses combine high quality teaching with subject-area expertise, industry contacts and a commitment to embed employability at every stage. Many of our marketing academics have considerable industry-focused experience and know exactly how to advise you when it comes to securing that first graduate role, Master's or new business venture.
Whilst the University will make every effort to offer the modules listed, changes may sometimes be made arising from the annual monitoring, review and update of modules. Where this activity leads to significant (but not minor) changes to programmes and their constituent modules, the University will endeavour to consult with students and others. It is also possible that the University may not be able to offer a module for reasons outside of its control, such as the illness of a member of staff. In some cases optional modules can have limited places available and so you may be asked to make additional module choices in the event you do not gain a place on your first choice. Where this is the case, the University will inform students.
Teaching and Learning
You’ll learn through a dynamic mix of lectures, seminars, workshops, group projects, and interactive digital activities designed to reflect real business practice.
Teaching is research-led and industry-informed, combining academic expertise with real-world insights from practitioners and guest speakers.
Throughout the course, you’ll be supported to develop independent study skills, teamwork, communication, and professional confidence, alongside strong employability awareness.
Guest speakers, Employability Week, and Professional Skills Week help you explore career pathways, build networks, and develop workplace-ready skills.
Assessment
Assessments might include (but are not limited to) group presentations, individual reports, essays, and video development. Our assessments aim to combine theoretical understanding with practical application. You’ll receive formative feedback throughout each module to help you enhance summative assessment performance.
As a result, you'll have the opportunity to gain and demonstrate a range of skills and competencies, such as critical thinking, research, analysis and creativity.
All assessments are commonly weighted according to the course level.
International fee-paying students. The entry point is in September each year.
SQA Higher National Diploma (HND), with B in each graded unit from one of the following courses:

Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. We require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading):
IELTS: 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components)

Test dates should be within two years of the course start date.
If you do not yet meet the English language requirements for this course, UEA International Study Centre offer a variety of English language programmes which are designed to help you develop the English skills necessary for successful undergraduate study.
