You might be producing content yourself or shaping strategies to maximise its reach and impact. Alternatively, you may pursue related careers in digital marketing, luxury branding, or PR for fashion and other high-end brands.
Many of our graduates go on to postgraduate study. At UEA, you could deepen your expertise with MA Digital Media and Global Communication, focus on production with MA Film & Television Production, or pivot to marketing through one of our degrees at Norwich Business School. You’ll also be well equipped to apply for Master's programmes at other top UK and international universities, with support and guidance to help you achieve your goals.
Study and Modules
Structure
This course takes place over two semesters. In the first semester, you’ll gain essential knowledge to navigate the contemporary media industries. You’ll learn how to engage effectively with audiences and understand both the potential and pitfalls of Artificial Intelligence (AI). You’ll also develop the skills to communicate confidently in a range of global business settings. These communication skills are vital if you’re interested in entering careers in PR for international or luxury brands, for instance.
In the second semester, you’ll put that knowledge into practice, advancing your creative and production abilities. You’ll hone your craft in both traditional video and film production, as well as in digital media content creation. By the end of the course, you’ll be a confident storyteller across film, video, and digital platforms—able to tailor content for the audiences you or your business aim to reach.
Compulsory Modules
Whilst the University will make every effort to offer the modules listed, changes may sometimes be made arising from the annual monitoring, review and update of modules. Where this activity leads to significant (but not minor) changes to programmes and their constituent modules, the University will endeavour to consult with students and others. It is also possible that the University may not be able to offer a module for reasons outside of its control, such as the illness of a member of staff. In some cases optional modules can have limited places available and so you may be asked to make additional module choices in the event you do not gain a place on your first choice. Where this is the case, the University will inform students.

Assessment
This course has no written exams. Instead, you’ll be assessed through coursework portfolios that include reflective, analytical, and creative work. You might produce a case study on a key issue in digital media, alongside reflections on your own media consumption habits. You’ll create short films or digital storytelling projects, with commentary on your creative process.
