Where this activity leads to significant (but not minor) changes to programmes and their constituent modules, the University will endeavour to consult with students and others. It is also possible that the University may not be able to offer a module for reasons outside of its control, such as the illness of a member of staff. In some cases optional modules can have limited places available and so you may be asked to make additional module choices in the event you do not gain a place on your first choice. Where this is the case, the University will inform students.

In year two, you can continue to shape your studies around personal and professional priorities through individualised research in the dissertation module.

Teaching and Learning, and Assessment
Teaching and Learning
The programme combines interactive seminars, practical tasks, and real-world case studies to develop strategy, communication, and professional skills. You'll study with a diverse cohort, sharing perspectives, and exploring the impact of policy, culture, and leadership on schools and other educational settings. Lecturers provide tutorials and tailored feedback, supported by library and online resources. In year one, you'll complete taught modules, strengthen research skills, and prepare for year-two dissertation research, which can be tailored to individual professional interests and career goals.
Assessment
Assessment on the course allows you to apply learning to real educational contexts through written work, including essays, reports, and applied analyses. You'll receive feedback to improve writing, critical thinking, and evidence-based reasoning. Building on this support, you'll complete a dissertation that demonstrates your ability to research effectively and present a well-structured, evidence-based argument.
You’ll submit coursework across both teaching semesters, as well as your final dissertation in year two.

Applicants who have completed a PGCE course at the UEA within the last five years can transfer 90 M Level credits towards this course. If an applicant has completed a PGCE or ITT course with another provider within the last five years they can only transfer 60 M Level credits towards this course. Applicants transferring credits may complete the course within two years.

- English Foreign Language
Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. We require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading):

IELTS: 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 in all components).

Test dates should be within two years of the course start date.

Fees and Funding
Tuition fees for the Academic Year 2027/28 are:
- UK Students: £11,750
- International Students: £25,000
If you choose to study part-time, the fee per annum will be half the annual fee for that year, or a pro-rata fee for the module credit you are taking (only available for Home students).
We estimate living expenses at £1,171 per month.
