  • Check In

    Visit the Check In and Welcome Zone from 9am.

    Parking for the open day will be at Costessey Park and Ride, Long Lane, Bawburgh, Norwich, NR9 3LX (///eruptions.dodges.meals). We will be operating a free shuttle service between the Costessey Park and Ride site and main campus. Just park your vehicle and board the shuttle bus. The first bus leaves Costessey Park and Ride at 8am.

    Once you arrive on campus, head to the Welcome Zone with your QR code which will be emailed to you the day before your event.

    When you check in don't forget to pick up the Open Day handout. If you need help as you explore, info points can be found across campus with students and staff available to help navigate your day.

    The last bus leaving main campus for Costessey Park and Ride is at 6pm.

  • Quiet Zone

    Visit our Student Information Zone (SIZ) if you would like to check in, in a small quiet environment. Our student advisor team, who help students with Learning, Student Services and Finance enquiries, will also be available to chat to.

  • Attend a Subject Talk

    Subject talks run throughout the day. Lecturers and students are available to chat to in the subject areas.

    Subject talks offer an excellent opportunity to hear from lecturers and current students. They run throughout the day and are open to everybody; booking is not required. Some talks are repeated but others are not, so we recommend building your day around the subject talks you wish to attend.

    Don't forget to view our subject specific facilities as well as attending any demonstrations relevant to your subject of interest (where applicable).

    Please note: Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic Science are located a short shuttle bus ride away from the centre of campus at our West Campus site.

    SHUTTLE BUSES

    Bob Champion Research and Education and Edith Cavell Buildings

    If you are looking to study Medicine, Nursing courses, Midwifery or Paramedic Science you’ll need to catch the free shuttle service between main campus and west campus. Please follow the signs for the shuttle service which leaves from outside the Enterprise Centre (///piano.spray.book).

    For Medicine head to the Bob Champion Building Research and Education Building (///dine.power.urban) and for our Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic Science courses head to the Edith Cavell Building (///puts.ticket.tested).

    Please allow 30 minutes for your journey to ensure you arrive at your talk on time.

    Broadcast House

    Broadcast House (///folds.mercy.plates) is located in Norwich City Centre and is open for you to visit from 12–3pm. You can take the free shuttle service which leaves from the National Express bus stop on Chancellor's Drive (///slang.normal.cave).

  • Accommodation Tours

    Our accommodation tours depart from the Tours Zone and run on demand. Tours last between 30 and 45 minutes.

    There are three types of tours available:

    • En Suite Campus tours - includes one En Suite Campus flat and one Barton or Hickling House flat

    • En Suite Village tours

    • En Suite UEA International Study Centre tours

    Tips for viewing accommodation:

    • Check out our types of accommodation before you arrive.

    • Hear more about options in our Accommodation Talks (///down.goats.paper).

    • Our tours are busiest from 121pm so please bear this in mind when planning your day.

    • We can’t guarantee specific flats will be open to view, but you will have the opportunity to see a variety of options.

    • If an accommodation isn’t open, there are 360-degree videos of a variety of accommodation on the Virtual Open Day Platform.

    • As part of our mission to make our events inclusive for all, our Tours Zone will be less busy with no music between 99.30am and 3–3.30pm. If you require a quieter atmosphere we would like to invite you to come and take a tour during these times.

    Self-Guided Tour

    If you'd rather explore campus and accommodation yourself, take a self-guided tour. Look out for flags and staff outside the open accommodation and head in to take a look around. Still got questions after you've explored campus? Head to the Tours Zone (///tips.claims.divisions) to speak with a member of staff.

  • Take a Tour of Campus

    Campus Tours depart from the Tours Zone and run on demand. You'll be guided by those who know best - our students. Tours last approximately 30 minutes.

    We’ll show you some of the key features of our beautiful campus including the essential amenities. You’ll discover lots of spots to socialise and places to take time out and you’ll learn about how our facilities help you to be independent in an environment that will soon feel like home.

    Slower paced tours

    Ask a member of staff if you would like a slower paced tour of campus or accommodation. These can depart on demand and take as long as you need.

    As part of our mission to make our events inclusive for all, our Tours Zone (///tips.claims.divisions) will be less busy between 9–9.30am and 3–3.30pm. If you require a calmer environment we would like to invite you to come and take a tour during these times.

    Self-guided tours

    If you'd rather explore campus and accommodation yourself, take a self-guided tour. Look out for flags and staff outside the open accommodation and head in to take a look around.     Chat to our teams from admissions, student finance, student support services, sport and physical activity and so many more.

    As part of our mission to make our events inclusive for all, our information zone will be less busy with no music at set times throughout the day, times will be published soon. If you require a quieter atmosphere we would like to invite you to come and visit during these times.

    You'll find the following teams in the Information Zone (///tips.claims.divisions), unless another location is stated below. Our friendly experts are on hand to answer all your questions. Chat to us about:

    • Accommodation: Come and chat to us about our award-winning accommodation and discover the different options available to you or join our ambassadors for a tour of our options.

    • Admissions: For all your questions about entry requirements, the UCAS process, contextual admissions and course offerings.

    • Digital Hub: Immerse yourself in the student city of Norwich and explore our clubs and campus using our interactive touch screen.

    • Faith Centre: A valued part of the University's welfare network and offers a spiritual space and community within campus for many religious groups. Our Faith Centre will be offering guided tours for you to drop into during your visit, times to be confirmed.

    • Mature and commuting students:  Discover all routes into UEA and hear what student life is like for mature learners and commuters.

    • Music: Chat to us about our ensembles, support for musicians and music making in general. You can also visit the Media and Music Building (///drama.using.fuel) to take a tour of the facilities.

    • Norwich: Find out more about living and studying in Norwich; England's first UNESCO City of Literature.

    • Placements and Careers: Chat to us about the support and opportunities offered to UEA students during their studies and beyond.

    • Security: Our security officers are on campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and are ready to deal with any situation. Find out how we ensure all of our students and staff are safe here at UEA.

    • Sport and physical activity: Sport is an integral part of community life at UEA for students. Visit us to find out about all the sporting and physical activities available to all of our students. Don't forget to attend our Sport talks and tours taking place through out the day.

    • Student finance: Get clear, practical advice on applying to University, including funding, fee and load enquiries, and preparing for university life. Whether you’re making your final decisions or just starting to explore your options, we will help you feel confident about your next steps.

    • Student Information Zone: Located in the Student Information Zone (///quiz.pound.richer). Visit here find out about student wellbeing on campus.

    • Student support: Helping you feel confident about your mental wellbeing and physical needs. Find out more about the services we offer as well as learning support.

    • Students' Union: Our stand will be located in the Hive, Students' Union Building (///enter.reach.added). Chat to us about our sports clubs and societies, academic, welfare and housing.

    • Study abroad:Want to experience studying abroad while studying at UEA? Come and chat to the team about the endless opportunities.

    • Teacher training: Passionate about teaching? Our PGCE team will be on hand to answer any questions you have around our teaching training programmes.

  • Sports Talks and Tours

    Visit our renowned Sportspark for tours and talks throughout the day. Sportspark tours depart from the Sportspark reception. Don't forget to attend our Sports talks, times and locations can be found in our Open Day Talk Timetable.

    You can also chat to our Sportspark staff in the Information Zone (///enter.reach.added) about sporting and physical activities available to all of our students.

  • Library, Music, Media and Sainsbury Centre Tours

    Visit the facilities that will support your learning and leisure.

    Library

    Take a tour of the Library (///soils.name.spell), Archives and special collections, which hold a huge range of material to support our students’ learning research. Find out more and join a tour which leaves from outside the Library entrance and lasts approximately 20 minutes.

    Music Centre

    Come down to the Media and Music Building (///drama.using.fuel) for a tour of UEA’s music facilities, which are open to all UEA students, no matter their area of study. Facilities include eight individual practice rooms and a multi-purpose 80-capacity concert hall. Find out more about our ensembles, support for musicians and music-making in general. Tours meet at the Media and Music Building reception.

    Media Suite

    All students from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities are welcome to use the Media Suite facilities for filming, editing, podcasting and more. Speak to one of our friendly representatives in the Media and Music Building (///drama.using.fuel) for a tour.

    Sainsbury Centre

    Head to the Sainsbury Centre (///enable.youth.vest) after the talks for an exclusive tour of our dedicated Art History building and gallery. You can also drop in and visit us and we will be delighted to show you around.

    UEA is proud to be home to the Sainsbury Centre, a world-class museum and art gallery on campus.

  • Where to Eat

    We offer a wide range of delicious food and hot and chilled drinks across campus aiming to meet every taste and budget.

    Open Day visitors will benefit from UEA pricing during their visit. This ensures you can enjoy the campus catering at the same great value as our current students and staff.

    We offer a wide range of delicious food and hot and chilled drinks across campus, aiming to meet every taste and budget. Follow your nose and enjoy our sizzling BBQ food in Zest and grab a bite of Mediterranean flatbread, spicy filled wrap, or a classic burger or hotdog. Perhaps try some cake (all made on-site!) in Ziggy's to enjoy with your iced caffe latte.

    Made-to-order subs and salads can be found in Cafe 57, or head to Unio for flatbreads or sushi to accompany your bubble tea. Barista made coffee is available in Grain, or why not treat yourself to a hand-stretched pizza from BOX in the evening?! For those further afield, Bob Champion Cafe on the Norwich Research Park can fulfil all your lunch and coffee break needs.

  • Discover Norwich

    Take a free bus ride to the city centre of Norwich. A vibrant city, just a short bus ride from campus.

    We’ve teamed up with First Bus to offer free travel between UEA and Norwich on number 25 and 26 buses. Look out for our email including a unique code offering free bus travel for Open Day visitors. 

    Don't forget to come and chat to us on our Norwich stand in the Information Zone, Congregation Hall, room 01.19.
