Thinking of a career in Education but need to explore finance options?
UEA offers a range of financial advice and support to help students progress in their studies.
Funding may be available to students based on their academic attainment, or students may be eligible for support based on their personal circumstances. Explore the funding options available for our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Discover Scholarships
Scholarships are usually awarded based on a student’s academic excellence, and in the form of a tuition fee reduction. The amount awarded may vary. Some require a separate application form to be completed for consideration, whereas others automatically consider applicants who have already been offered a place on their course. Find out more about scholarships relevant to the School.
The University of Sanctuary Scholarships are awarded to asylum seekers or applicants who have been granted Discretionary Leave/Humanitarian Protection or Refugees (Leave to Remain) and do not qualify for support from Student Finance England.
Discover Bursaries
University bursaries are usually awarded to UK students based on their personal circumstances, household income or social factors. Find out more about UEA's undergraduate bursaries (UK students).
UEA PGCE Bursaries and Scholarships
You may be eligible for a DfE bursary or independent institution scholarship when training to teach. These are tax-free amounts of money you receive to train in certain subjects. You do not need to pay them back. Find out more about DfE bursaries.
A 10% fee reduction scholarship is available to UEA graduates looking to stay with us or return to undertake a PGCE. We will automatically apply the scholarship to your student account to reduce your tuition fees so there is no need to apply. This comes in addition to any DfE bursaries. You can find out more information here.
UK PGCE applicants will also be eligible to apply for the £2,000 Bright Futures Postgraduate Scholarship. This comes in addition to any DfE bursaries.
We also offer a £1,000 PGCE Bursary for students who have a household income of less than or equal to £20,000 per annum and who live in postcode areas where residents are least likely to progress to Higher Education. We will assess eligibility for this bursary using your household income and postcode information provided to Student Finance England upon application. Find out more about this bursary.
Students identifying as from a minority ethnic background and studying a Primary PGCE at UEA can apply for the £5,000 Anne French Memorial Trust PGCE Bursary.
