If eligible, nursing, midwifery and many allied health professional learners will receive an NHS bursary between £5,000 and £8,000 a year to help fund their studies – this will not need to be repaid.
Scholarships are available for UK, EU, and International undergraduate and postgraduate applicants to our courses. The University of Sanctuary Scholarships are awarded to asylum seekers or applicants who have been granted Discretionary Leave/Humanitarian Protection or Refugees (Leave to Remain) and do not qualify for support from Student Finance England.
UEA offers a range of financial advice and support to help students progress in their studies.
Funding may be available to students based on their academic attainment, or students may be eligible for support based on their personal circumstances. Explore the funding options available for our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Scholarships are usually awarded based on a student’s academic excellence, and in the form of a tuition fee reduction. The amount awarded may vary. Some require a separate application form to be completed for consideration, whereas others automatically consider applicants who have already been offered a place on their course. University bursaries are usually awarded to UK students based on their personal circumstances, household income or social factors. Find out more about UEA's undergraduate bursaries (UK students).
UEA PGCE Bursary
Please note this is separate from any Department for Education (DfE) bursaries or scholarships. The UEA PGCE bursary is designed to support students undertaking a PGCE at UEA, who have a household income of less than or equal to £20,000 per annum, and their home address on application is in a postcode area where residents are least likely to progress to Higher Education. Students do not need to apply for this bursary; the university will assess who is eligible using household income and home postcode information provided by Student Finance England, following applications. Students who are eligible, can be awarded £1000.
This bursary is an award or payment made to support your teacher training. Students eligible will receive a bursary from UEA for the year of study for which they are eligible.
For UEA's Student General Terms and Conditions please refer to General Regulations for Students.
