Simon DunfordSimon leads the Communications Office team and is responsible for media relations, internal communications and reputation management. A politics graduate, he trained as a journalist and worked in news, features and as a leader writer and columnist. He joined UEA as a press officer in 2004, becoming assistant head of communications in 2012.

Cat joined the team in 2006 after working as a journalist at the Eastern Daily Press. She is responsible for media relations for the Faculty of Social Sciences, liaising with international media to promote UEA's wide-ranging academic expertise.

Laura Potts

Laura is responsible for media relations for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, liaising with international media to promote UEA's wide-ranging academic expertise. She studied journalism at Michigan State University, working at the Detroit Free Press and Associated Press before relocating to England in 2005.

Lucy Clegg

Lucy's role is to help raise UEA’s corporate profile on local, national and international levels. She spent five years at Tribe PR before joining UEA in 2013. Lucy graduated with a first class degree in journalism from the University of Lincoln in 2007.

Clare Parry: Internal Comms Officer Clare Parry: Internal Comms Officer

Clare works with staff and students across the institution to enhance two-way internal communications. She began her career in a Norwich PR consultancy before moving to Aviva, where she held various communications positions in the global and European teams. Clare joined UEA in August 2016 after spending four years as a freelance communications consultant.

Sundari Faraday-Drake

Sundari is the first port of call for media enquiries, manages office administration, and writes and edits copy. She job-shares her role, working Wednesdays (AM only), Thursdays and Fridays. Sundari grew up in Norwich and worked in conveyancing before joining UEA in 2005.

Lawrence Brown: Comms Assistant Lawrence Brown: Comms Assistant

Lawrence is responsible for collating and internally circulating daily summaries of UEA media coverage, including research stories and University news. He also assists with website content, media enquiries and a variety of administrative tasks. Lawrence worked for a Norwich-based charity as a communications officer before joining the team in 2016.

Anna Burbidge: Comms Assistant Anna Burbidge: Comms Assistant

Anna is responsible for assisting with internal communications. She monitors the student twitter account, writes articles for the e-bulletins, updates the portal and helps with other administrative tasks. Anna worked as a communications officer at Redwings Horse Sanctuary before joining UEA in 2017.

Lisa Horton

Lisa is responsible for media relations for the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, liaising with international media to promote UEA's cutting edge research. She began her career working in television as a researcher and presenter, before working as a print journalist and joining the UEA communications team in 2008.

Fiona works with staff and students across the institution to enhance two-way internal communications, organising a major review in 2012/13. A UEA History graduate and former editor of student newspaper Concrete, Fiona worked as the editor of a Norfolk magazine before joining the Communications Office team in 2011.
