Your Undergraduate Applicant Day Programme

Please use the drop-down box below to look at your subject specific programmes and timeline to explore the activities on offer for you throughout the day.

  • Welcome and Check In

    9.30–10.40am on Saturdays and 11am–1.40pm on Wednesday

    There will be multiple check in areas at each event. Your check in area location will depend on your chosen subject of study. Please check the subject programmes for your specific details.

    Once you arrive on campus, head to your check in area. Follow our applicant day signage or ask our ambassadors or staff who will be located around campus and they will be happy to help you find your way. Don't forget to pick up a map when you check in, as well as one of our handy information leaflets for your guests.

    Depending on your applicants' chosen subject, there may be additional activities you can take part in. Please see your subject specific programme to find out more.

    You could use your free time to explore our campus, including our on campus art gallery, the Sainsbury Centre and our Sportspark. Alternatively you could head in to our beautiful city of Norwich and explore it's historic sites, cobbled streets, shopping centres and cafes using our free bus ticket. Look out for our email which includes a unique code offering free bus travel for Applicant Day visitors.

  • Accommodation Tours

    Our accommodation tours depart from Congregation Hall and run from 12.45–3pm on Saturdays and 11am–1.30pm on Wednesday.

    Explore our Accommodation

    The best way to get to know our campus and discover more about your accommodation options is to go on a tour. Choose your tours based on the accommodation you think is right for you.

    We have a few tips to help you choose your accommodation tour:

    • Check out our types of accommodation before you arrive.

    • Compare your options, you can go on as many tours as you like, they will all be leaving from Congregation Hall.

    • Our En Suite tours cover 'Campus accommodation'. Our 'campus accommodation' is located in very close proximity to teaching spaces and other campus facilities.

    Tour duration - 60 minutes approximately.

    We can’t guarantee specific flats will be open for you to view, but you will have the opportunity to see a selection of our accommodation which is similar to your preferences. If a particular accommodation isn’t open, there are 360-degree videos of a variety of accommodation on our Virtual Applicant Hub.

  • Campus, Library and Sportspark Tours

    Departing from Congregation Hall, you will be guided by those who know best - our students. Tours run from 12.45–3pm on Saturdays and 11am–1.30pm on Wednesday.

    Explore Campus

    We’ll show you the key features of our beautiful campus including the essential amenities. You’ll discover lots of places to socialise and spaces to take time out. You’ll also learn about how our campus and facilities will help you to thrive in an environment that will soon feel like home.

    Tour duration - 25 minutes approximately

    Library

    Take a tour of the Library, Archives and special collections, which hold a huge range of material to support our students’ learning and research.

    Sportspark 

    Visit our renowned sporting facilities, including our olympic-sized swimming pool, gym, climbing wall, studios, sports halls and more!

    Slower paced tours

    Ask a member of staff if you would like a slower paced tour of campus or accommodation. These can depart on demand and take as long as you need.

    Visit Congregation Hall from 12.45–3pm on Saturdays and Wednesday 11am–1.40pm to chat to our teams from admissions, student finance, accommodation, student support services, study abroad and many more.

    You will find the following teams in our Information Zone. Our friendly experts are on hand to chat through all your questions:

    • Accommodation: Chat to us about the range of accommodation options available to applicants. They will ensure you know which accommodation is within your budget and aligns to your preferences.

    • Careers and Placements Years: Chat to us about the support and opportunities offered to UEA students during their studies and beyond.

    • Finance: Get clear, practical advice on applying to University, including funding, fee and load enquiries, and preparing for university life.

    • Norwich: Immerse yourself in Norwich and explore what makes our city special.

    • Sport and Physical Activity: Sport is an integral part of community life at UEA for students. Visit us to find out about all the sporting and physical activities available to all of our students.

    We offer a wide range of delicious food and hot and chilled drinks across campus aiming to meet every taste and budget.

    Fancy a fry up in the morning? No problem. Looking for a street food style lunch? We've got you covered. The Zest menu has up to three different counter offerings and includes lots of vegan options.

    Made-to-order subs and salads can be found in Cafe 57, or head to Unio barista hand-crafted coffee, homemade traybakes and bubble tea. Our Modern Life cafe is to be found in the beautiful glass fronted west end of the Sainsbury Centre. Morning pastries start the day followed by a premium menu serving sourdough toasties, salad bowls, full counter service hot lunch and home-bakes cakes and scones. Why not treat yourself to a hand-stretched pizza from BOX in the evening? Choose from classic margherita, meat feast, spicy piccane, vegan options and more.

Don't forget to also take some time to check out our independent cafes or dine at a variety of restaurants offering delicious local and international cuisine.
