Your Undergraduate Applicant Day Programme

We are delighted to have you join us and hope that you use your visit to immerse yourself into our campus and fully experience life as an undergraduate student at UEA. Please use the timeline below to explore the activities on offer for you.

Subject Programmes

To make the most of your visit, take some time to look through the example subject specific programmes for your course. These are listed alphabetically below. (Please note these programmes are subject to change)

Your programme may not have exactly the same name as your course, so take a look at your invitation email to find out which programme is yours. For example, if you have an offer to study Business, you'll need to find the Norwich Business School programme, which can be found under 'N'.


  • Welcome and Check In

    09:30 - 10:40 on Saturdays

    There will be multiple check in areas at each event. Your check in area location will depend on your chosen subject of study. Please check the subject programmes below for your specific location details.

    Once you arrive on campus, head to your check in area. Follow our applicant day signage or ask our friendly Ambassadors who will be located around campus and they will be happy to help you find your way. Don't forget to pick up a map when you check in and for guests we will have a separate handy information leaflet.

    Please check your emails for details of your allocated car parking area. There will be no charge.

    During this session, you’ll get an exciting introduction to UEA, followed by a Q&A with a lecturer and current students. Please feel free to submit any questions in advance using the link detailed in your one day reminder email. Alternatively you can submit a question on the day.

    Subject Programmes

    Your day will be tailored to the subject that you are interested in studying. You will spend time in your school of study and participate in a range of talks and taster sessions designed to give you a real flavour of what you would be undertaking here at UEA on our degree programmes. For more detailed programme information, please check out our subject programmes.

    You will also meet and chat to lecturers and current students who are working and studying in your chosen school of study.

  • Parents and Guests

    We welcome Parents and Guests to come along to our events

    Depending on your applicants' chosen subject, there may be additional activities you can take part in. Please see your subject specific programme below to find out more.

    You could use your free time to explore our campus, including our on campus art gallery, the Sainsbury Centre and our Sportspark. Alternatively you could head in to our beautiful city of Norwich and explore it's historic sites, cobbled streets, shopping centres and cafes using our free bus ticket. Look out for our email which includes a unique code offering free bus travel for applicant day visitors.

  • Accommodation Tours

    Our accommodation tours depart from Congregation Hall and run from 13:00-15:00 on Saturdays.

    The best way to get to know our campus and discover more about your accommodation options is to go on a tour. Choose your tours based on the accommodation you think is right for you.

    We have a few tips to help you choose your accommodation tour:

    • Check out our types of accommodation before you arrive.

    • Compare your options, you can go on as many tours as you like, they will all be leaving from Congregation Hall.

    • Our En Suite tours cover 'Campus accommodation'. Our 'campus accommodation' is located in very close proximity to teaching spaces and other campus facilities.

    Tour duration - 60 minutes approximately.

    We can’t guarantee specific flats will be open for you to view, but you will have the opportunity to see a selection of our accommodation which is similar to your preferences. If a particular accommodation isn’t open, there are 360-degree videos of a variety of accommodation on our Virtual Open Day Platform.

  • Campus and Library Tours

    Departing from Congregation Hall, you will be guided by those who know best - our students. Tours run from 13:00-15:00 on Saturdays.

    We’ll show you the key features of our beautiful campus including the essential amenities. You’ll discover lots of places to socialise and spaces to take time out. You’ll also learn about how our campus and facilities will help you to thrive in an environment that will soon feel like home.

    Tour duration - 25 minutes approximately

    Library

    Take a tour of the Library, Archives and special collections, which hold a huge range of material to support our students’ learning and research.

    Slower paced tours

    Ask a member of staff if you would like a slower paced tour of campus or accommodation. These can depart on demand and take as long as you need.

    Visit Congregation Hall from 13:00-15:00 on Saturdays to chat to our teams from admissions, student finance, accommodation, student support services, study abroad and many more.

    You will find the following teams in our Information Zone. Our friendly experts are on hand to chat through all your questions:

    • Accommodation: Chat to us about the range of accommodation options available to applicants. They will ensure you know which accommodation is within your budget and aligns to your preferences.

    • Admissions: For all your questions about entry requirements, the UCAS process, course offerings, contextual admissions and so much more.

    • Norwich and the Digital Hub: Immerse yourself in the student city of Norwich and explore our clubs and campus.

    • Sport and Physical Activity: Sport is an integral part of community life at UEA for students. Visit us to find out about all the sporting and physical activities available to all of our students.

  • Where to Eat

    We offer a wide range of delicious food and hot and chilled drinks across campus aiming to meet every taste and budget.

    Fancy a fry up in the morning? No problem. Looking for a street food style lunch? We've got you covered. The Zest menu has up to three different counter offerings and includes lots of vegan options.

    Made-to-order subs and salads can be found in Cafe 57, or head to Unio barista hand-crafted coffee, homemade traybakes and bubble tea. Our Modern Life cafe is to be found in the beautiful glass fronted west end of the Sainsbury Centre. Morning pastries start the day followed by a premium menu serving sourdough toasties, salad bowls, full counter service hot lunch and home-bakes cakes and scones. Why not treat yourself to a hand-stretched pizza from BOX in the evening? Choose from classic margherita, meat feast, spicy piccane, vegan options and more.

  • Discover Norwich

    Take a free bus ride to the city centre of Norwich. A vibrant city, just a short bus ride from campus.

    We’ve teamed up with First Bus to offer free travel between UEA and Norwich on number 25 and 26 buses. Look out for our email including a unique code offering free bus travel for Applicant Day visitors.

    Take a walk along our cobbled streets, discover iconic landmarks including Norwich Cathedral and Norwich Castle, and enjoy the vibrant shopping districts. Don't forget to also take some time to check out our independent cafes or dine at a variety of restaurants offering delicious local and international cuisine.
