UEA is a welcoming, positive and inclusive university for prospective students.
We are proud to be a Stonewall Diversity Champion and take part in the annual Stonewall Workplace Equality Index, which specifically addresses the level of support provided for trans and non-binary colleagues.
We have a thriving Staff Pride network for those who identify as LGBT+, as well as a fast-growing staff network of LGBT+ Allies, who you can spot around campus by their rainbow lanyard, plus we’re in the process of building these up with LGBT+ representative bios and staff articles.
We’re working on improving the experience for our trans and non-binary colleagues through initiatives such as reviewing policies around transitioning in the workplace, and releasing new online training modules around understanding and respecting trans+ colleagues and students.
As a prospective student to UEA who is interested in finding out more about the LGBTQIA+ scene in Norwich, plus safe spaces in Norwich for LGBT+ people, read more regarding advisory groups and Norwich Pride.
You can also find an of LGBT and LGBT-friendly venues, organisations and businesses.
