Our Answer:

UEA is proud to be an LGBT+ friendly university with a warm and welcoming atmosphere no matter how you identify.

We have over 200 societies to get involved with and in particular our UEA Pride society provides a range of welfare support and social opportunities for you to get involved with. UEA Pride have been working hard and won the LGBT Society of the Year in 2015 at the National Union of Students (NUS) Societies awards.

UEA’s Students’ Union (UEASU) work on a wide range of campaigns to represent UEA students, in particular they have the LGBT+ Caucus which is the democratic forum for LGBT students at UEA. They also send representatives to the NUS LGBT+ Annual Conference to represent UEA students.

Norwich is a safe city and hosts Norwich Pride, a celebration of the LGBT community for everyone, each year. Norwich city centre is only a short bus or taxi ride from campus and has great venues such as The Loft NR1 and The Castle Pub – find out more by exploring Norwich Pride’s LGBT Directory A-Z.
