Immigration Bail

Immigration

If you are studying at UEA on immigration bail, it is important that you let the university know by emailing Student Visa Compliance. If you receive any updates about your case from UKVI, this is also to make the team aware.

If you need immigration advice for your case, you can find a list of external immigration advisers that can provide both fee charging and non-fee charging services on the UK Government website. If you are an asylum applicant or refugee and you need advice about the asylum process or adapting to life in the UK, you can also use the asylum helplines.

Support

The University of Sanctuary engages with sanctuary seekers to arrange student support, various events, activities, and research projects. You can find more information about what they do on their webpage.

Student Journey and Support Services provide a wide range of support, advice and guidance for students at UEA. Below is a brief overview of what our advisers can help you with:

  • Our Wellbeing Advisers can: provide support if you are experiencing difficulties with your wellbeing or mental health while you study at UEA. They also assist students with disabilities and long-term health problems, as well as temporary disabilities that might affect your studies. There are many ways that the wellbeing advisers can help you, from workshops and group sessions, one-to-one appointments, self-help resources and online support, and help with accessing external support.

  • Our Student Life Advisers can: offer support with living off campus, provide financial advice, support you if you experience or witness anything that makes you feel unsafe, as well as providing visa and immigration support for international students. Student Life Advisers can signpost, refer, advise or simply provide a confidential, non-judgemental space for you to discuss your concerns.

  • Our Residential Life Advisers can: offer advice, guidance and support about life in residences and provide a safe space for you to talk about any difficult circumstances you are facing.

If you would like support from Student Journey and Support Services, you can complete the self-referral form. Your referral will be passed on to the most appropriate team within Student Journey and Support Services and you will be contacted with the recommended next steps based on the information you have provided.

The Learning Enhancement Team (LET) work with students and apprentices from all levels of study and all subject backgrounds to help them find effective ways of studying. They also offer English Language support.
