Graduate Employment

More than 80% of our graduates are in professional work or further study, according to the HESA Graduate Outcomes Survey

At UEA, we know that a university degree is a huge financial and emotional commitment; that’s why we’re committed to supporting our students to achieve good graduate outcomes. Our courses and employability support are built with your career in mind.

Exploring graduate career options

Preparation for the transition from university into the workplace begins long before graduation. Our dedicated careers service, Career Central works closely with schools to offer opportunities to explore graduate roles, gain sector insights and develop skills valued by employers.

Our careers events give you the chance to network with employers in different industries and learn from the experiences of UEA alumni. Keep reading for details of our upcoming events.

Our placement and internships experts can support you to secure opportunities to try out particular jobs or fields while gaining skills and experience for your CV.

And the Student Enterprise team offers specialist advice and guidance for those interested in starting their own business.

Plus, the UEA Mentoring Programme connects you with industry professionals who provide advice, guidance and insider knowledge.

Finding and applying for graduate roles

We work with local, national and international organisations and businesses - from SMEs to the top graduate employers -  so our students and graduates can access a wide range of opportunities.

Events

If you're thinking about a graduate scheme or graduate internship, our Autumn Jobs Fair provides the perfect forum to explore your options. You can chat with employers, large and small, about their roles, what they are looking for in applications, and what it's like to be part of their organisation. This year's Autumn Jobs Fair is happening on campus on 7 October 2026. Current students and recent graduates can find event details on MyCareerCentral (login required).

Another important UEA event for students thinking about their next steps after university is Grad Fair. This annual graduate jobs fair, brings employers to the UEA campus each Spring to meet our final year students and promote their live vacancies. We'll release the date for this year's event soon, so make sure you add it to your diary!

Vacancies

Career Central’s online jobs board advertises thousands of vacancies throughout the year, including graduate schemes, internships and jobs. You can even sign up for job alerts so you’ll never miss an exciting new opportunity.

Graduate internships

UEA's own Internship Programme offers paid professional internships on campus or with local businesses; these are exclusively available to UEA students and graduates. In this video, Nada and Mae explain why they chose to do a UEA internship at the end of their studies.
