UEA students and recent graduates can access careers advice and guidance to help you explore career options, develop professional skills and prepare for your next steps.
We understand that every student is different and career support needs to be tailored to the individual, their interests and ambitions. We also work closely with the UEA’s faculties and schools to make sure our service aligns with your degree discipline.
Our services are designed to support you at every stage of your studies – not just with finding a graduate job. This could include getting a part-time job that fits alongside your studies, exploring potential career paths, gaining work experience through an internship or placement, or preparing for recruitment processes and entering the graduate workplace.
Careers Advisers
Our team of professional advisers offer free one-to-one advice and guidance for all UEA students, apprentices and recent graduates. Appointments can be easily booked and managed online, and are offered in person on campus or virtually on Microsoft Teams.
We have careers advisers aligned to each of UEA’s schools ensuring they have a solid understanding of your degree discipline. We offer bespoke careers support for students and graduates with a disability, as well as international students and graduates who want to work in the UK or return to work in their home country. You can also access advice from our placements and internships experts, as well as UEA’s Student Enterprise team who can work with students and graduates interested in starting their own business.
Whether you’ve got a career path in mind or you’ve not yet started thinking about your options, our professional advisers are on hand to help you build confidence, make a plan and prepare for your next steps.
Careers Events
Throughout the year, we run a range of free careers events open to all students and recent graduates. These include careers fairs, enabling our students and graduates to connect with employers and find out about opportunities within their industries. We work closely with UEA’s schools, delivering talks and workshops which offer sector insights, networking opportunities and the chance to learn from the experiences of UEA alumni. We also offer skills workshops covering key topics such as finding and applying for jobs, doing interviews and assessment centres, and using LinkedIn.
