Travelling & Parking Arrangements
The University of East Anglia is home to around 15,000 students and employs more than 2,000 staff. Given that it is such a busy and active environment, parking spaces are in short supply, especially at peak times on weekdays during term time. It is important to us that you get the most out of your visit to the University, and for this reason we have put in place dedicated travel arrangements for all visitors attending Applicant Visit Days. We strongly advise that visitors follow the advice below – noting the differing parking arrangements for Wednesday and Saturday Visit Days.
By Car - Wednesday Visit Day
Parking Arrangements
There is no visitor parking available on campus during the week, so all visitors arriving by car on a Wednesday should park at the Costessey Park and Ride, arriving between 9.00 and 11.00 a.m.
Costessey Park and Ride is off the A47 just west of Norwich in the direction of Swaffham near the Royal Norfolk Showground, with its entrance on Bawburgh Lane, Easton (see map below). The SATNAV postcode is NR9 3LX.

On arrival at the Park and Ride visitors will be directed to the designated parking area by UEA Student Ambassadors (wearing red T-shirts).
You will then be taken by dedicated coach service to the UEA campus about ten minutes drive away (please note that this is not the Park and Ride service and you will not be charged).
On arrival at the University, guests will be greeted by Student Ambassadors who will direct you to the relevant Faculty area to sign in.
There will be a return coach service to Costessey Park and Ride running between 2.00 and 4.30 p.m. leaving from University Drive.
By Car - Saturday Visit Day
Parking Arrangements
Visitors attending a Saturday Visit day are welcome to park in the main car park on campus. You will be issued with a plastic token at the entry barrier which you will need to retain in order to leave without paying at the end of the day. You will need to place the token in the slot at the exit barrier – don't go to the pay machines, as you will be charged for parking (£1.00 for the day). Any lost tokens will be charged at £12.00 and can be paid for at the pay station near the zebra crossing.
On arrival you will be greeted by Student Ambassadors (wearing red T-shirts) who will direct you to the relevant Faculty area to sign in.
Wednesday and Saturday Visit Days - By Train
All visitors arriving in Norwich by train between 8.00 and 11.45 will be greeted at the railway station by a UEA Student Ambassador (wearing a red T-shirt), who will direct you to the First Bus Company bus stop just outside the station where you can get the number 25 or 25A bus to the campus. These buses run every ten minutes or so and take about half an hour.
On arrival at the University, you need to get off at the bus stop opposite the main car park on University Drive. You will be met here by a Student Ambassador, who will direct you to the relevant Faculty area to sign in.
Buses for the city centre and the railway station leave from University Drive every ten minutes.
