The School of International Development at UEA is a leading global centre of excellence in research and teaching in international development.
We are committed to making a real difference in the world. Our academics regularly advise on policy on major global challenges such as poverty reduction and environmental sustainability. Our students leave with academic expertise, training in practical skills and usually do a work placement as part of their degree.
The results of the Research Excellence Framework (REF2014) rank the School of International Development fourth in the country for overall research, with 74% of our research ranked “world-leading” or “internationally excellent”.
We are ranked in the World Top 15 for Development Studies in the QS World Rankings 2017, and in the UK Top 15 for Geography and Environmental Studies in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017.
