Your University Questions, Answered.
Will I be able to apply for a part-time job on campus online before I arrive?
While we cannot guarantee there will be part-time jobs available before you arrive at university, we can assure you there will be plenty of opportunities when you arrive. The Student Union here at UEA offer opportunities working in the campus shop, in the union bar and café (Unio), during gigs and club nights at the LCR or The Waterfront and also helping with the administration of the Union. It employs about 100 permanent members of staff and around 300 student staff.
There are also opportunities on campus working for the university. For example working as a student ambassador, working as an Open Day guide, visiting local schools to talk about university life, and conducting campus tours.
Our Careers Service - CareerCentral - is there to help you find a job too whatever step of your student journey. You can find hundreds of part-time jobs listed on their website when you arrive here, find a range of Internships and volunteering opportunities, and gain the support you need to find your first graduate level position when you finish. They can even help you start your own business or become your own boss!
Within the first month of arriving at UEA you will be encouraged to attend CareerCentral's Recruitment and Opportunities Fair - packed full of exhibitors offering part-time jobs for students as well as voluntary opportunities to build up your skills.
With Christmas just a matter of weeks away when you arrive at university in September many employers in the city here in Norwich - and across the country - will be looking to recruit part-time workers, so we would recommend also keeping an eye on their jobs pages too!
