Hello! My name is Hanife and I am studying MSc Marketing and Management.
I have always wanted to study in England, but I didn't know how to apply and complete the entire application process. My friend advised me to get help from BEB (British Education Bureau) in Turkey, which led me to discover UEA. This agency has been very supportive throughout the application process, and my time so far at university. Also, I found out UEA offers scholarships for Turkish students – this is what appealed to me the most. When I received my scholarship confirmation letter from UEA, all the way to my house, it was a tremendous moment – I was so happy. Since then, I knew UEA was the best for me.
Before I applied for UEA, I was worried about the situation of the pandemic. However, after I came here I saw that the students and lecturers were following the pandemic rules. Everyone wears a mask during the lecture and keeps a safe distance from each other to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Also, every hour in the library there are announcements reminding students of the importance of following COVID rules during these difficult and challenging times. I feel safe on campus, at the library, and in all buildings due to these safety precautions.
I really enjoy my course; the way it has been designed allows students to engage more with their peers, for example, through group seminars and workshops. There is also a good balance between theory and practical work. In regards to overcoming the language barrier, UEA always supports students with ELSP (English Language Support Program) and assignment support sessions to ensure students reach their full potential. During my master's program, I am continuing to develop my academic skills in this professional environment.
Norwich is a lovely city. It has lots of green areas and many historical places to enjoy in the city centre. You can find everything from all around the world with a huge variety of cuisines. Despite it being a city, it feels very safe, with people who are warm and friendly.
If you are looking for a good education, 24/7 campus life, numerous facilities and a welcoming city, then UEA is for you!
