Information event for Access to HE students

Join us on campus for a free Access to HE Event

This event is designed specifically for students who are currently completing an Access to Higher Education Diploma. Join us on campus to learn about university services, experience learning within a university setting, and gain valuable insight into life as a mature student.

Our next Access to HE event will be on Wednesday 11 November 2026.

This is not a recruitment event. Instead, it aims to give you a flavour of mature student life in a university setting to help you with informed decision making. We would love for you to bring your curiosity and learn more about how universities support diverse groups of students.

UEA staff and students will be on hand to help you prepare for navigating university and balancing your studies alongside existing commitments.

Student Support and Student Life Information Fair

The information fair will give you an opportunity to find out more about the support services and opportunities available to university students. We will have representatives from a variety of services and groups including Learning Enhancement, Student Support, Students’ Union, UEA+Sport and more. This is your opportunity to ask specific questions and see what life and study at university could offer you.

Learning in HE Session

We will ask you what subjects you're interested in, so we can allocate you to a session that will give you an experience into what learning in a higher education setting could be like in your area of study.

These sessions are not designed to give you specific subject insight. To learn more about studying your specific subject at university, we would recommend you attend a university open day. You can find out about UEA’s Open Days for specific subject insight and do the same for any university you’re considering applying to.

Question and Answer Session

To complete your visit, you will have the opportunity to ask your questions to a panel of UEA Staff including Admissions, Wellbeing, and Learning Enhancement Team.

How do you sign up?

You can sign up by completing the Access to HE Registration Form. Booking opens on 1 October and the deadline to sign up is 28 October.

What happens after you sign up? 

After you complete the registration form, you will receive an email to confirm that it has been received. If you highlight a reasonable adjustment requirement, we will be in touch to ensure a comfortable visit. Otherwise, joining information will be emailed shortly after the signup deadline.

Who is this event for? 

This event is aimed at students who are studying an Access to Higher Education Diploma, either online or at a further education college.
