Sainsbury Research Unit Bursary in the Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas
The Sainsbury Research Unit is offering bursaries to help both home and international students to study on the MA in The Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas.
Each bursary includes:
A Maintenance Grant to support students with living costs while enrolled on the MA
An additional £650 for travel costs related to MA, including museum visits
You do not need to submit a separate application as all offer-holders for the course will be invited to an interview and eligible candidates will be identified during this process.
Apply for the course by 31 January 2027 to be considered for this scholarship.

Further Criteria
To be considered for this bursary you must be in receipt of an offer of a place, by UEA, on the MA in The Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas, for the academic year 2027/28.
This bursary is open to both home and international students. The bursaries are awarded following the admissions interview and will be judged based on academic excellence and financial need.
We encourage you to apply for this course ahead of 31 January 2027 as there are a limited number of awards available. Later applicants will still be considered for bursaries, although these are limited.
This bursary is designed to ensure that financial circumstances do not prevent talented applicants from pursuing the MA.
Restrictions with other Scholarships
Students receiving sponsorship covering maintenance by an outside body or government organization are not eligible for this bursary. Government or educational loans that require repayment do not affect eligibility. Please note that students awarded an SRU Bursary can still apply for UEA fee reduction Scholarships.
