MA Arts of Africa, Oceania And The Americas Bursary
The Sainsbury Research Unit supports outstanding UK and International students pursuing the MA in The Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas at the University of East Anglia.
Bursaries are designed to ensure that financial circumstances do not prevent talented students from accessing the SRU MA programme and will take the form of substantial contributions towards maintenance and travel costs, and will be awarded subject to both academic excellence and need.
We encourage applications from the regions of Africa, Oceania and the Americas.
Eligibility
Applicants are eligible for a bursary if they hold an Offer of a Place from the UEA for the MA in The Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas
There are a limited number of bursaries available, and applicants are strongly advised to apply early.

Restrictions with other Scholarships
Students receiving sponsorship covering maintenance by an outside body or government organization are not eligible for this scholarship. Government or educational loans that require repayment do not affect eligibility.
Application Process
To be considered for this bursary, applicants first need to apply for a place on the MA in The Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas, via the UEA portal.
Provided the applicant meets the eligibility criteria, they will automatically be considered for the bursary, on a competitive basis, with no separate application required.
Applications may be asked at interview to outline their plans to finance their participation in the course, and this may be taken into account.

The final deadline is Friday, 20 March 2026 for both UK and International students
