International UG Merit Scholarship
This scholarship is an automatic award for students paying overseas fees, joining the first or second year of an eligible undergraduate Bachelors degree programme in September 2026.
The scholarship is awarded for every year of study, excluding placement years, years in industry, years/semesters abroad or any other occasion where a student is not paying the full Overseas tuition fee.
YEAR 1 ENTRY
This award is worth:
- £5,000 for every year of study.
YEAR 2 ENTRY (excluding students joining from UEA International Study Centre)
This award is worth:
- £5,000 for every year of study, if you are a national of, or domiciled in: Bangladesh, Colombia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kenya, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vietnam or Zimbabwe.
- £4,000 for every year of study, for rest of the world.
UEA INTERNATIONAL STUDY CENTRE Students joining Year 2 of a UEA UG programme
This award is worth:
- £4,000 for every year of study.
This will be deducted from tuition fees on an annual basis, in line with our terms and conditions.

The following courses are not eligible for this scholarship:
MBBS Medicine
BSc Physiotherapy
BSc Occupational Therapy
BSc Medical Research
Any Undergraduate Final Year Entry courses
Degree Apprenticeship courses
Students receiving sponsorship covering full fees by an outside body or government organisation are not eligible for this scholarship. Government or educational loans that require repayment do not affect eligibility.
Restrictions with other Scholarships
This scholarship can only be received alongside the International Early Payment Awards. You are not able to receive any other UEA Scholarships in addition to this. If you are eligible for another UEA Scholarship of higher value, this will automatically replace this Scholarship.
