Clearing is the last stage of the UCAS application cycle for those who are looking to start University in 2025. Clearing allows you to apply and secure a place at university once you get your exam results if you’re not already holding an offer, and the course still has places. Clearing at UEA officially opens Saturday 5 July, so it’s important to be prepared and take advantage of all the Clearing opportunities available to you. Clearing is a good option for you if you’re applying after 30 June, didn’t receive any offers that you wanted to accept, didn’t meet the condition of your offers (don’t worry, it happens), or you’ve declined your firm choice on your UCAS application.

Clearing ends Sunday 20 October. This means applications must be submitted before the closing date to have a chance at securing a place on a course, so make sure you’re organised and don’t miss out! It’s important to make an informed decision and seek out support if you need to talk things through with someone, but remember to make your decision within the offer timeframe as a course closes once it gets filled up.

Submitting your Clearing application early increases your chances of securing a place on your preferred course. This also gives you time to consider alternative options you haven’t previously considered, and prepare a back-up plan if there are no places on the course you’re interested in.
