What is Clearing?

Clearing is the UCAS process that helps you find a university course if you don’t already hold an offer. If your plans change – or you don't get the offer you expect – Clearing gives you access to courses with places still available.

Am I eligible for Clearing?

If the following scenarios apply to you, you will be eligible to apply for your chosen course through Clearing:

  • You haven’t been accepted by your current university choices

  • You haven’t met the conditions of the offers you’ve received

  • You didn’t receive any offers for a university course

  • You want a place at a university but haven’t yet applied

  • You’ve rejected an offer because you changed your mind about your chosen course or location
