Psychologists within the School of Psychology at UEA have strengths across a range of areas such as cognitive and social neuroscience, perception and action, developmental science and cognitive development, attachment and relationships, developmental psychopathology, addiction, psycholinguistics and language disorders, mental health, social identity, intergroup relations and social cognition. The 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) rated over 80% of UEA’s research in Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience as world leading or internationally excellent.
Research excellence in the School is underpinned by outstanding facilities for research and teaching, including state-of-the-art virtual reality, EEG, TMS, fNIRS, motion tracking, eye tracking and computing and observation laboratories. We also make use of a 3T MRI brain scanner situated in the nearby Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
