Transforming Health & Care

The School of Health Sciences offers three distinct programmes designed to support clinical and non-clinical staff working across health and care settings to progress their careers.

MSc Management and Leadership in Health & Social Care is a part-time, multi-professional course designed to:

Develop leadership, management, improvement and practice based capability
Apply research and evidence to real-world challenges
Influence policy, practice, and organisational change

MSc Research and Quality Improvement in Health & Care is a part-time, multi-professional course designed to:

Develop the confidence and capability to turn challenges in everyday practice into evidence-based improvements
Strengthen health and care services using research, quality improvement and innovation
Reflect current national standards and workforce needs by aligning to the NIHR Clinician Researcher Credentials Framework (2023) and the NHS England Multi-Professional Research Framework (2023).

Professional Doctorate in Transforming Health and Care is designed for experienced leaders and senior working professionals to lead real-world transformation across health and social care systems.

Design and conduct robust impactful work based projects
Drive innovation across services aligned to organisational priorities and challenges
Build collaborations and networks to expand influence and credibility
Share advanced knowledge and skills to create a stronger research and improvement culture

The work based extended projects from the MSc programmes can be implemented within the professional doctorate, providing a direct route into doctoral study

Professional development and short courses

Flexible learning to support your professional growth

Our short courses and CPD modules are designed to help you build confidence and gain valuable knowledge in manageable steps. We offer a range of non-credit bearing short courses, as well as Level 6 (undergraduate) and Level 7 (Masters) credit-bearing CPD modules.

These modules can equip you with management and leadership skills and insights to improve your service and enhance outcomes and experiences for your service users.

Pathways to Further Study

Credit earned from Level 7 CPD modules can also be used as academic evidence towards progression onto one of our Postgraduate Taught programmes.

We offer a flexible approach to recognising prior learning. UEA CPD module credit at Level 7 can be transferred into a postgraduate programme within five years of completion (subject to terms and conditions). This means you can start studying without committing to a full programme straight away, giving you time to build your confidence and progress at your own pace.
