introduction and opportunities introduction and opportunities

On 1 July 2014 Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust became one of the largest Trusts in the UK by acquiring Barnet and Chase Farm hospitals.

Our Trust has around 10,000 staff serving 1.6 million patients. It comprises Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, the Royal Free Hospital and more than 30 services in the community.  This larger scale organisation provides an unprecedented opportunity for us to continue our pioneering work, particularly in finding ways to deliver even better care to our patients.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver world class care and expertise in our clinical services, underpinned by world class teaching and research and we will continue to measure our progress against our five governing objectives: excellent outcomes, excellent patient and staff experience, excellent value for taxpayers’ money, being safe and meeting our external duties, and building a strong organisation.

Our Values

At each of our sites we ensure that we are welcoming, respectful, reassuring and communicative. Our values were chosen by our patients and staff in 2012 and underpin all we do. Following the acquisition of Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust in 2014, 1,000 members of staff helped us develop a Behaviour Framework based on our values. The Behaviour Framework, ‘living our values’, summarises the behaviours that our staff and patients expect to see at the Royal Free London.

  • positively   welcoming
  • actively  respectful
  • clearly   communicating
  • visibly   reassuring

As the largest acute Trust in London we offer a wide range of employment opportunities for nurses.

We have a first class education team and provide excellent preceptorship/supervision support for graduates as well as a wide range of postgraduate courses. We are affiliated to a number of universities in particular Hertfordshire and Middlesex Universities for:

  • Adult Nursing
  • Children’s nursing
  • Midwifery
