ABOUT

originalprojects; is an artist-led organisation working with contemporary artists and communities in Great Yarmouth, co-creating ambitious objects, experiences and developmental activities that respond to the place and people, building relationships for a sustainable future.

Established in 2016, originalprojects; have developed a distinctive approach to working with artists in a range of local communities to explore relationships between generosity, creativity and place. Their projects unlock creative opportunities supporting everyone to learn new skills, build confidence and thrive through experiencing sustainable and pioneering great art.

Projects include taking on ‘meanwhile’ spaces for the presentation and production of art and exchange of ideas (through gallery spaces like PrimeYarc, and studio complexes at PrimeYarc, the former Citizens Artists’ Bureau and 169 King Street); convening conferences, discussion forums and talks to further research and share knowledge with peers across the field of contemporary art; commissioning 1:12 scale public artworks inspired by Merrivale Model Village; collaborating with Eastern Ear to co-produce YARMONICS (a festival of sound and new music); working with Utter Nonsense to co-produce Finding Emerson (a festival of photography); creating podcasts and much more.
