Overview for employers

At UEA, we’re passionate about delivering high quality apprenticeships by working in partnership with our employers. Whether you’re upskilling an existing employee or developing someone new to your organisation, UEA is there every step of the way to ensure the apprenticeship journey meets your business needs.

An apprenticeship is a structured programme of learning that can be undertaken when the learner is already employed. Your apprentice will ‘earn as they learn’ by following an official apprenticeship standard which sets out the crucial knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSB’s) to provide them with competency in that role. All apprenticeship standards are monitored by the government and are available on the Skills England website.

For any employer, taking on an apprentice comes with great responsibility and commitment, so please take the time to navigate our Employer section for further advice and guidance regarding recruitment, funding, incentives and our current apprenticeship provision.
