The University is committed to promoting a positive attitude to disabled people and to creating the conditions in which all students can participate fully in the academic, social and recreational life of the University.

The campus is generally accessible although wheelchair users sometimes have to take an alternative route. The University has a rolling programme of improvements to existing facilities and aims to incorporate high standards of disabled access into all new buildings.

University accommodation caters for a range of needs with well designed rooms for wheelchair users, students with allergies and breathing problems, and hearing impairment. Carers can also be accommodated and assistance dogs are welcome. We are pleased to provide detailed information about our premises, internally and externally, to help you make the most of your visit here. Should you have any specific needs for access please let your contact at the University know. If you are not sure who to ask, or have a more general enquiry please email equality@uea.ac.uk or call 01603 591898.

You can find accessibility information for facilities on campus by using the campus map and clicking on the 'Accessibility' tab at the bottom of the map.

The Student Support Service also has more information about the additional support that the university makes available to students with a disability.
