Mo Carrier on MyBliss

Mo Carrier, founder of MyBliss, a recipient of a UEA Enterprise Fund £7,500 Grow It Grant (June 2021) and £50,000 Scale It Investment (September 2022).

We spoke to Mo Carrier (AMA15), founder of MyBliss, to explore how the company is supporting women’s intimate health, the impact of UEA Enterprise funding, and the exciting growth they’ve achieved since launching. Mo shares how the £7,500 Grow It Grant (June 2021) and £50,000 Scale It Investment (September 2022) helped bring MyBliss to life, advice for aspiring student entrepreneurs, and the life-changing role donors play in making the company possible.

“You really do change lives. Without UEA donors, MyBliss wouldn’t exist.”

What need does MyBliss meet?

MyBliss offers intimate health products that support the vaginal microbiome. Our flagship product is the MyBliss Ultra-Thin Condom, made exclusively with vulva- and vaginal-safe ingredients.

How did the funding you received help MyBliss?

The Grow It grant enabled us to create the MyBliss brand, and the Scale It investment allowed us to place our first stock order. It has also served as our runway funding for the last three years.

How has MyBliss grown and changed since 2022?

We’ve been named Best Condom Brand in 2024 and 2025 by Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, and Glamour. MyBliss is now stocked by Superdrug, Debenhams, and many more. We are now generating over £5k in monthly revenue with minimal marketing. Recently, we were awarded a £100k Innovate UK grant to develop a medicinal condom that promotes vaginal microbiome health. This is being developed for direct-to-consumer and NHS use.

What impact is MyBliss currently making?

Our focus is improving healthcare outcomes for women. From customer reviews, it's clear our flagship product is reducing infections like bacterial vaginosis, urinary tract infections, and thrush. Our long-term vision is to become a trusted healthcare partner in women’s health.

What’s next for MyBliss?

We’ve recently been accepted onto the Fortuna Fellowship, which offers matched funding to participants. Over the next few years, we aim to grow our business-to-business presence and finalise conversations with major retailers like Boots and Tesco. We also plan to prioritise vaginal microbiome clinical testing on our product range to distinguish MyBliss as a science-led brand.

What advice would you give to other student entrepreneurs at UEA?

Make the most of the grants and investments UEA offers. Not many universities provide this kind of support. UEA extends investment opportunities to graduates up to five years after they finish their studies, so speak to the enterprise team about any ideas you want to explore.

What would you say to donors who support the Enterprise Fund?

You really do change lives. Many UEA graduates like myself don’t come from wealthy backgrounds or have connections, which makes raising investment much harder. Without UEA donors, MyBliss wouldn’t exist. Thanks to you, we’re now creating products that have the potential to help eradicate vaginal and urinary infections.

The Enterprise Fund is open to all students during their course and up to three years after graduation. Founded in partnership with UEA alumni, we have awarded 87 grants and investments to a value of £1.457m since the Fund’s launch and continued the University’s long tradition of championing enterprise in everything we do.
