Winter Graduation 2023

To be eligible to graduate from your study programme, your name must appear on a pass list approved by the University’s Senate by 24 November 2023 and you must ensure you have fulfilled all academic related financial obligations to the University. 

Winter graduates will receive their certificate by post  after the official conferment date of 1 December 2023. Please allow up to 28 days delivery.

 

Postgraduate Research Student Eligibility

For PGR students to be eligible for Winter Graduation on the above date they must have:
•    Completed their viva
•    Received the outcome and any details of corrections
•    Completed, submitted and received sign off on any corrections required
•    Submitted the final electronic copy of the thesis
•    Received a final pass list 
•    Paid any debts due to the University

 

The final electronic copy of the thesis must be submitted to the Postgraduate Research Service by a specific date, normally around a month before the Graduation Office deadline, so that the final internal checks can be completed, and the pass list issued. For Winter Graduation the deadline date for submission is 27 October 2023. 

The Postgraduate Research Service will communicate the date directly to all researchers they believe are eligible. Please contact your Postgraduate Research Service team if you have any questions about this process.

Any advance arrangements regarding your own and/or your party’s travel or accommodation to your summer celebration are made at your own risk.

Spring Graduation 2024

To be eligible to graduate from your study programme, your name must appear on a pass list approved by the University’s Senate by 8 April 2024 and you must ensure you have fulfilled all academic related financial obligations to the university.

Spring graduates will receive their certificate by post after the official conferment date of 12 April 2024. Please allow up to 28 days delivery.

 

Postgraduate Research Student Eligibility

For PGR students to be eligible for Spring Graduation they must have:
•    Completed their viva
•    Received the outcome and any details of corrections
•    Completed, submitted and received sign off on any corrections required
•    Submitted the final electronic copy of the thesis
•    Received a final pass list
•    Paid any debts due to the University

To receive your certificate you must complete the eVision registration task.  You will receive an email once the task is open.  As part of the task you will be asked to confirm your official name and the address that you wish your certificate to be sent to. 

We cannot send out your certificate unless you have completed the registration task.

Your certificate will be sent free of charge to your nominated address.  For overseas delivery there is an option to upgrade to a tracked service.

Full details of all delivery services will be provided when you complete the registration task.

If you do not receive your graduation certificate within 6 weeks from your conferment date, we will issue a replacement free of charge to your registered address. 

If your certificate has been sent to an incorrect address, you will need to pay £35.00 for your replacement to be sent to an alternative location, unless you notified us of the change before your conferment date. 

For overseas addresses we also offer a tracked delivery service and further details can be provided on request.

If you are notifying us of non-receipt more than 12 months after you have graduated you need to contact the Student Records Office. Please note that charges will apply.

When you register for Winter or Spring you will be asked if you wish to attend Summer Graduation in July to celebrate your achievements.  If you do wish to attend you will be contacted in April with further details.
