Welcome to Norwich Law School
Norwich Law School was established in 1977. We have around 527 undergraduate students and 110 postgraduate students and are renowned for the high quality of our courses as well as providing an intimate, student focused experience. 92% of students in the most recent National Student Survey expressed overall satisfaction with the quality of their course.
The School is housed in the historic Earlham Hall. We offer a friendly, collegiate environment with approachable staff, a strong student support system, and an exciting range of extra curricular activities, from The Innocence Project to mooting and negotiation competitions, as well as social events run by the student Law Society.
The Law School has strong exchange links, allowing our undergraduate students to study in Europe with or without a second language, and is one of very few universities to offer a course in Law with American Law. We run a broad range of international postgraduate courses and welcome students to the Law School each year from across the globe.
Students join a thriving research environment. In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise 80% of the Law School’s research was deemed to be of international quality, with 40% of all research defined as ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ in terms of originality, significance and rigour. Our research is broad based, but we have particular concentrations of expertise in European and Comparative Law, Media Law, Commercial Law and Competition Law with strong links to the ESRC Centre for Competition Policy based at UEA.
