The School of Computing Sciences is one of the largest and most experienced computing schools in the UK, expertly blending excellent teaching, research, facilities and exciting course modules to offer a dynamic programme targeted at the job market.
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), 95% of our research activity was rated as world-leading, internationally excellent or recognised. In the latest employment information released, 88% of our undergraduates, who were available for work, found work or study within six months of leaving. Of those in work, 95% were in graduate-level jobs after just six months.
Our laboratory facilities are excellent, with six general purpose computing labs, a specialised computer graphics lab (with haptic feedback devices) and an electronics hardware lab. We are particularly proud of the new Apple Macintosh Lab which contains iMacs, iPads and iPod touch devices for our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
