Your University Questions, Answered.
What is the ethnic diversity of UEA like?
UEA is a diverse, multicultural university that welcomes students and staff from all backgrounds and ethnicities.
As a university we support diversity in many ways, for example through our Multifaith Centre on campus, which offers a spiritual meeting place and community centre for all students, of faith or not.
There are over to 200 clubs and societies at the UEA Students' Union, reflecting the diversity of students studying and living here. Take a look at what societies you could get involved in! Many of these student-led groups arrange social events and activities that you can get involved with, which is a great way to make friends and meet like-minded individuals.
Norwich itself regularly celebrates culture and diversity through events, festivals, and from its historical venues, particularly as England's first UNESCO City of Literature. We celebrate Black History month each year in October, through a series of talks, music and performances, while other local festivals such as Latitude and the Norfolk and Norwich Festival feature performances from a wide range of cultures and countries across the world.
Here at UEA we want all students to have a positive experience of university life, whatever their ethnicity, background, financial status or ability.
