Jane is something of a UEA expert; having worked here for a few years she knows a lot about different aspects of student life at the University. She did a year abroad as part of her undergrad degree (as well as a bit of travelling) and also has experience of working overseas. Jane is a bit of a fan of living in Norwich and knows a lot about what there is to do in the city, and also spends a lot of time in the great outdoors.

Lucy is a true native of Norfolk, with a Portuguese twist! She studied Art & Design, and Creative Writing in Norwich, before spending a few years working, studying and living in London. She is one of the faces behind UEA’s social media, and enjoys being experimental with words, imagery and sound. She is a major Disney fan, a secret street dancer, and keeps a tropical aquarium in her living room.

Having grown up and worked as a graphic designer in London and Birmingham, Jo has now moved her family to settle in the fine city of Norwich. Over the past ten years she has worked within every School within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and currently works on all the key University publications and brochures. Being part of a large Irish family, Jo is married to a chef and has two teenagers, so spare time is very busy spent cooking and enjoying the craic!

After growing up by the seaside in Kent, Hannah first came to Norwich to study English at UEA, after which she went on to work in the charity sector and then for another university before returning to work for UEA. Hannah describes her job as 'a bit strange', as she neither works nor lives in Norwich – Hannah is based in the south of England and works with schools and colleges in counties right across the south. Hannah has a cocker spaniel called Dudley, with whom she likes to hike across the Folkestone Downs, and considers herself a mac 'n' cheese expert.

Jenna grew up in West Sussex, then moved the other side of the world with her family to live in Australia. Fast forward seven years after completing her tertiary study and working at a university in Brisbane, she moved to Norwich to work at UEA. Over the past year she has loved exploring Norwich, the Norfolk coastline and other secret places this fine city has. Jenna's surname originates from Venezia (Venice), and she loves visiting family in Italy and eating good Italian food!

Creative Writer and Communications graduate from Sydney, who loves puns and icecream, but loathes cliches and tangled earphones. After studying a year of a Humanities degree abroad in the UK, Whitney fell in love with Norwich and its unique cafes, pubs and arts scene; also a perfect base to explore Europe from. In her professional career this Aussie has written everything from quirky wine labels for Virgin to serious Guardian articles, but current priorities include learning all lyrics to the Blackalicious rap, Alphabet Aerobics, and somehow getting a dog.

Jono is one of the voices of UEA's social media channels and is likely to be the person you'll speak to when you post a comment or question on our Facebook, Twitter, or WhatsApp channels. He studied Politics and Media here before joining UEA after graduation. Outside of work Jono considers himself a bit of a digital campaigner, having spearheaded a number of national campaigns including #SaveBBC3, which had huge celebrity support. He claims one of his greatest accomplishments was having his hair cut by Harry Potter's Warwick Davis for charity... apparently he did a good job too!

Sophie originally comes from London, but has a love for travelling and has lived in Australia and Chile. After returning from Chile she fell for the charms of Norwich and really loves living and working here – she currently helps promote UEA’s Medicine and Health courses.  Her time outside work is spent exploring nature, practising her Spanish, cooking Vegetarian food, and making full use of the sports facilities here on campus.

Self-confessed coffee addict and reluctant cat owner, Adam swapped Suffolk for Norfolk after studying English Literature at UEA and falling in love with Norwich and the surrounding area. As one third of a local acoustic folk trio, he is commonly found at various venues across the city with a guitar in one hand and a pint of beer in the other; occasionally he plays the guitar too. After completing his studies, Adam returned to UEA where he spends most of his time translating numbers into words.

Myles studied Environmental Science at UEA, and after graduating has tried hard not to leave Norwich. He's one of the Higher Education Advisers at UEA and his life consists of a tour of Premier Inn's and now has far too much knowledge of the motorway network. As a proud Yorkshireman, Myles can regularly be found enjoying a good cuppa, moaning about the cricket and not understanding why Henderson's Relish (Google it) is unavailable in the Chippy.

Hannah R

Hannah is an Outreach Officer at UEA, where she organises events on campus and visits schools to advise students on university. She went to university in Sheffield before returning to her home town of Norwich where she loves the friendly vibe, endless pubs and amazing shopping! Hannah can be found either in her kitchen knocking up raw healthy treats or out walking in the Norfolk countryside and coastline with her beloved Dachshund puppy Maggie.

Lucy N

A Norfolk gal born and bred Lucy spent a few years working and studying in the East Midlands before returning to Norfolk. She spends her working days going into schools to share her love of all things university, giving advice about things such as writing a personal statement and getting prepared for interviews. Lucy loves living in Norwich and is often found at vintage events, putting a twist on a 40s hairdo and rummaging for a bargain. As a Guide and Scout leader, she works a lot with children and young people and her infectious giggle can often be heard across the office.

Liz left the midlands in 2002 to study Film and English at UEA, and hasn’t looked back. She likes to think she’s on her way to becoming a proper Norfolk local but unfortunately she can’t really do the accent. Liz works as an Outreach Officer and loves to talk to people about their interests, skills, and hopes for the future. Outside of work Liz likes to sleep, watch movies, cook on the BBQ, and go camping at every opportunity.

Avril works in the Admissions team so there’s a chance that you’ll meet her at an open day, or hear from her regarding your application. Her favourite part of the job is meeting all our lovely new students in September!   Avril loves getting out into our beautiful countryside, particularly heading up to the coast for a stomp along the beaches, and is a self-confessed foodie who enjoys eating out and constructing her own culinary masterpieces (but is a frustrated baker). Loves chips, live music, and dabbles in many different crafts. Hates traffic jams and walking in the rain.
