Why choose Dickinson
Dickinson College is a private liberal arts college in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1773 as Carlisle Grammar School, Dickinson was chartered 9 September, 1783, six days after the signing of the Treaty of Paris, making it the first college to be founded after the formation of the United States.
At Dickinson College, students are encouraged to be actively engaged with the wider world and challenged to think differently and act boldly. Liberal Arts education means time is dedicated to students and the learning experience might be more personal than you're used to. This is the opportunity to experience a different style of education.
The College runs a Dickinson in England programme where big groups of their students come to UEA with an academic for a semester or year. This means plenty of people of their campus are familiar with UEA, and you will be welcomed with open arms.
Beyond the town of Carlisle, Pennsylvania offers plenty of history and culture to explore. The state is home to Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed. It's also home to several important Civil War battlegrounds. The Appalachian Mountains also offer somewhere to explore the outdoors.
