Chemistry... without the laboratory Chemistry... without the laboratory

This Kitchen Chemistry course is designed to explore some of the principles of chemistry.

As a student of this free course, you will be encouraged to carry out your own experiments using materials that are often found in the home. If not? They can be easily sourced from most supermarkets, pharmacies or hardware stores.

What will I learn?

You will use fruit tea to identify acids and alkalis.

You will investigate chemicals that speed up reactions.

You will experiment with electron transfer reactions.

These experiments should give you a feel for the world of molecules and an idea of some reactions.

You will be introduced to some main methods of separating chemicals, and learn how to find out what chemicals are present in a mixture. You'll even discover ways to change chemicals from one form to another.

Exciting and extremely accessible - UEA's Kitchen Chemistry course is ideal for the scientifically curious.
